I think the "lack of experience" excuse is a little old by this point. We're 7 games into the season and unfortunately the veterans like jenks and Matthews are equally as bad as the fish.

Our lack of leadership is really hurting us as well. Jenkins obviously isn't a leader. I think it really shows how big a role nealy, porter, and j-stew played in last years defense that was also considered to be lacking talent.

it's old as in you are tired of hearing it I suppose. But it's hard not to recognize the truth in it. Guys don't "get it" in 7 games. Otherwise Von or Porter or Stewart or Moore would have been starting at that point. That's a pretty nice group but none were. The truth is of that group, most of them the light came on as JRs and SRs and none of them did as freshmen. So while the excuse may be old, it doesn't change that reality.

Upperclassmen in our front 7:
Ennis (out for season)
Stansbury (suspended for weed)
Robinson (never really played before this season - couldn't train due to injury for 6 months)
Jenkins (suspended for weed)
Baggs
Sanders (JUCO)

That's it. For 7 positions, we have 6 guys, 2 are JAGs and 2 are knuckleheads, one is in his first year and one is done. Experience, and as you say leadership, is very much lacking and that fact isn't going to change overnight
