Coach Grady Brown has said these two guys will play this Saturday. Do you think this is just him trying to motivate Victor, Jimmy, and Ahmad? Or is this where we see these two players career begin?

Hopefully both. We gotta shake it up some. Our secondary just flat out looks confused out there.

On a side note why the heck can't our DB's actually catch a interception when it hits them in the hands?
I think we are 1 for 3 in that dept.

Before the injury last year Rico was one of our best cover corners, and Jamari was supposedly showing out during fall practices. Hopefully they can produce but I doubt they will start. I would love to see Elder back there also.

Going into the Kentucky game we were supposed to see some of David Williams in the backfield, but that didn't happen. I'll wait until they actually see the field to get my hopes up this time.

From my understanding the staff wants David Williams to redshirt, so they are not playing him unless he is needed, and he wasn't needed in the Kentucky game.

Agreed ... but all three are dressing and traveling to Arkansas.

See David Williams at this point is almost inevitable. He's even working-out with the first team in practice at times.

As far as Smith and McWilliams go, it's just time to throw them out there and start getting them some experience.

McWilliams should have been out there already...

The coaches also said David Williams will play last week. If they have great practices, they might play, but we'll just have to see what happens.

Strange because I didn't think corner was the position struggling the most. I'd love to see Chaz Elder at SS even though hes listed as Williams backup at FS. Marcus and Gurley have been pathetic this year.

And I don't understand the thinking behind red-shirting Williams. Hes not going to stay for 5 years and hes need now. Guess the coaches are concerned they won't have a runningback in the 2014 class if they don't land Scott

Here's the dynamic they are facing with Williams.

If they play him now, and I believe that's a foregone conclusion, then he's going to be behind Davis for either two or three years, and alongside Wilds for at least three years.

So let's say, although I question whether this is a given, but let's say Davis goes early after next season. That gives Williams one season, max, to become draft worthy unless he sticks it out through his senior season.

The logic equats to him being here four years.
