I gave it a really good look. I watched it again, and again, and again. I watched at full speed. I watched at every angle multiple times.
Here's what I got.
The view from the GIF in the OP was not a direct angle. I was fortunate to get a better angle with these photos below. Here is my assessment.
Based on what I saw, which is not much different than the GIF, I still don't see indisputable evidence that the ball came out (or was coming out) of his left hand prior to the nose of the football touching the plane (the front of the goal line, not the back of it). I cannot see a loss of control until he flicks his hand in what appears like an attempt to put the ball on the turf in the endzone.
So, I gave it a really good look. I still don't see indisputable evidence of a fumble prior to crossing the FRONT of the goal line (check your rules if you doubt me). I would have confirmed the ruling on the field as a touchdown, but even if I didn't confirm, I still would not have had enough video evidence to overturn the ruling on the field, which was a touchdown called by a guy with a front row seat.

You are really invested in this.

None of those pictures looks like he has control of it. Maybe knowing that he lost control of it shortly after after makes it seem that he doesn't have control before the GL.
