Same goes for Star Jackson and Phillip Sims. Are our backups that horrible?

hmm, why didn't you mention ely? Or morris, who blake sims has beaten out?

He's played pretty well today, granted against Georgia state. Seems like an odd time for this shitty thread. And he got a scholly bc he was a big time athlete out of high school. And Phillip sims was the number 1 prostyle qb in his class.

I won't point out the obvious.

Sims is actually giving the younger QBs time to grow...

That's all I can come up with to make me feel better about it!

I also think Saban is loyal because Sims has hung in there.

so disappointed that 11 did not see PT as he is going to be fighting for the QB job next year..it is obvious that Sims is not the man..Only passes they let him do were short ones and that won't work in SEC play. what a pisser.

He was probably supposed to be a DB, but it just worked out that he stuck at QB.

Ely, Morris, and McLeod getting scholarships is 100000000x more ridiculous than Jackson or Philip Sims though.

Blake Sims finished 14/18 for 130 yards and a touchdown. Roughly 7.2 yards per attempt. Not too shabby.

Saban will let Sims start next year until he loses his first game.

yes not shabby but the short throws like I said will not make our o work against the good D's. We got to be able to stretch them and I am sorry you can't see the obviousness of that point

Sims wasn't brought in to be a QB. We just happened to be really short on QBs, so we moved him there.

We will run the HUNH next year if Sims is the QB, thus making those short throws easier.

Don't ask me how I know this. It's just a gut feeling. Saban has expressed interest in the HUNH this season and if Sims is our best option at QB next year something tells me that is how the offense will roll.

sims showed what he does when he has to throw deep..He had 2 if not 3 interceptions in the spring game along with a lot of other horrible throws. I am going to respectfully disagree with your assessment of next years QB. We may well run a HUNH at times but it will not be the main emphasis of the O. NS knows the D has to be able to rest and ball control on the offensive side allows the D to rest

You don't just go HUNH for one year and then go back. It doesn't work that way. Have you seen how much going away from it for just one year has affected how fast Auburn is able to play?

Not to mention Nussmeier has no experience with that kind of offense.

Not that much, actually. Their offense started to spiral in 2011.
