The English have a group that travels to other countries for the sole purpose of rioting.

So basically OM fans are accustomed to losing.
Your thoughts make sense. Thanks for sharing.

PS... @ your post. Good stuff!

But what is wrong with losing one's shite over a game? Absolutely nothing.

There's a lot wrong with it.

Why can't I watch football and enjoy/live life separately?

Losses bother me a little then I wake up the next day. Not all Bama fans are Harvey Updyke.

it's quite possible that all these "Bama fans" would just switch to whatever fanbase is doing bettert at the time.

I won't argue with anything you said except that last part...but I would choose Bama over Ole Miss any day.

Anyone who lets a college football game or even a pro football game seriously affect their day or week or way of life is just sad.... It's a game and in no way should it affect the fans.. Because that's what we all are, fans.

Yes, I do agree that some Bama fans live out colleges football. It can affect their way of life and the way they treat others. But keep in mind, it's not all Bama fans. Probably not even the majority. LSU has these types of fans and OM does as well.

I always chuckle to myself when I see so many people that get so upset. If you are not on the coaching staff or are in some way directly connected to the team, the outcome of a game should not control your life. I understand getting mad during a game when someone makes a silly mistake but having it control your life, well, is just sad...

If I go on youtube and reach the end of the internet I assume I will only find Bama fans losing their shite.

I don't know anyone in "my real life" who "loses their shite."

I'm going back through the times I lost my shite . . I guess the one that sticks out is 2010 Auburn.

That one stung. I do not recall losing my shite.

No, there really isn't. When we lose a game, I lose my shite, I go to sleep, and wake up the next day and go on with my life.

It doesn't affect your life or damage anyone else's in anyway.

Solid post, Jango. I can agree with that. It's still my belief that greater success breeds a greater tendency for fans to act like that.

LSU fans are obsessed with Bama more than they are LSU, and you want to talk about not having a life?

Child please

I have no doubt about that. I hardly recognize the mentality of quite a few of the P&G. They tend to be younger and have little sense of 'through thick and thin'.

There is no disagreement here.

The disagreement is when a guy says a particular fan-base has figured this out, where others haven't.

I know Bama fans and Auburn fans who take it way too seriously--and they are certainly, and distinctly, a small minority--or Finebaum callers. And I only mention those two because that makes up about 95% of the college fans in Alabama.

To suggest Bama and Auburn are no different than MSU/Ole Miss and LSU/??? in this regard is silly.

And that's what the OP did.
