All radio rumors here in Baton Rouge but with the timing it is being suggested that this is drug related which honestly would surprise me as he has never been in trouble before.

My first thought.

And this is why. Depending on policy it's possible for the very first thing you hear when its drugs is that they're suspended for a year. I can't remember the exact letter of the rule, but basically a player fails one NCAA test and gets a stern talking to. A player fails a second test and they have a choice. Choice A is to accept a short suspension, and probation. Choice B is to appeal, be retested, and possibly be cleared. The catch is that if you fail that third test, it's an automatic year. That's what happened to TM7.

The rules are hazy, because TM7 was able to fail plenty of in-house tests before it ever caught him. We rarely ever hear about those. It's the NCAA tests that carry real consequences, but the school is legally bound not to talk about it, so it's all together possible the very first time you hear of a problem it's a year suspension being handed down.

Again I'm leaning away from drugs now that multiple people are saying it's just a few games, but I'm not sure where Cooper got the "rest of the year" thing from. Really strange for someone to use that term, whoever he got it from, if it's not something that carries an automatic suspension.
