Santa Anna made one of the classic blunders of history. While he didn't get involved in a land war in Southeast Asia, he did fail to realize the idiotic, stubborn, damn-it-all-hell attitude of that odd mix of Germans, Spaniards, Tennesseeans, and who-knows-what-else that began the bastardized Texas race.
