Sure they were...proved it during the regular season during the week in/week out grind of it all. Ya know, when "every game counts" (pfft). Just b/c Bama had a month to prepare and Saban consulted with NFL coaches (while Miles did who knows what) doesn't mean Bama was better. It was one game. It may even be just me but I don't care...perception is reality and the perception is that the Tigers went into YOUR stadium and took that game from Bama ala Eric Reid. The 2 best teams that year already played but that is an argument in & of itself.

So was Kentucky or Arkansas better than LSU in 2007? In 2011, LSU won a game against Bama in OT on the final play. It wasn't a game that went back and forth. You never led for a single second of actual play. LSU survived that game without a loss. Bama did not. That's to your credit.

Dude. LSU had virtually the same amount of time to prepare. It's not like that one week difference was worth 21 points and only one trip across the 50. Just admit that Bama was better that year. I don't understand how you can even argue against it after what happened in New Orleans (in YOUR city where LSU does not lose, as we were constantly told before the game).

Wouldn't this also apply to your argument about the 9-6 game, even more so, in fact, since it was a closer game?

No. That's perception of LSU fans. The rest of the college football country has the perception that Bama dominated you in the biggest game of the year in a way that no other team has ever been dominated in the BCSNCG history. That's perception and reality.

Agreed. They had already played and they were the two best teams. The job of the BCS is to put the two best teams (#1 vs #2) in the BCSNCG against one another. Everyone outside of Oklahoma and Louisiana knows that the two best teams were Bama and LSU that year. Enough of that "mulligan" nonsense. The BCS did its job and the best team in the country proved it.
