You're not southern. Period. Y'all aren't even Eastern. A state that has a City known as the "Gateway to the West" can't be in the Southeast. I'm sorry, but you just don't belong. And no amount of justifying your role during the Civil War can change that.

Grass Berms are for baseball and Sunbelt teams.
I don't even bring the war into this, because that is just stupid.
Missouri isn't southern. Period.

If it is "the gateway to the West"...then wouldn't it also have to be "the gateway to the East" if you are coming the other direction?

OK. But we're SEC, baby!
And Missouri was initially settled by the French, the oldest towns generally have French names - St. Louis, St. Charles, Cape Girardeau, Ste. Genevieve, etc. Then the early settlers were from Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama - primarily Scots-Irish. The "Little Dixie" area along the Missouri River was mostly settled by people from Kentucky Tennessee and Virginia.
