Texas is only five times bigger than Alabama. UT is the preferred destination for most Texas recruits. That is the main reason why it is such a good job. Even Alabama loses in-state recruiting battles to Auburn on occassion.

If Texas was really that great a job they'd have won a lot more over the years.
