In terms of the NFL, Mett is the better prospect actually.
Doesn't mean Murray isn't a legit player. No reason to be upset.

Mett looks a lot better than I thought he would based onlast year, but more like I thought be would coming out of high school. I still reserve judgment for how he does the next couple of weeks. So far though he's been lights out.

Not entirely certain I agree with you. He might have a better arm and have the height that is desired, but that does not make him a better prospect. If the draft were held today, I would be willing to bet Murray would be drafted higher. Now, if Mett shows that his performance over the first three games are legit, and not overblown statistics against inferior opponents, then he might develop INTO a better prospect. However, if he shows himself to be as inconsistent as he was last year, then.....
That said, if Mettenberger is a better prospect, then I would think LSU would want to take a close look at their QB coach, and ask why his performance has not measured up to his skills. Somebody is doing a poor job of development.
According to NFLDRAFTSCOUT.COM, Murray is alted to be drafted #93 while Mett is slated at #158.
SB Nation has Murray rated #11 QB and Mett at #14.
We can go on and on, but my point is there have been WAY too many QBs drafted with height and all the usually QB tools that have flopped because of what is between their ears. (Ryan Leaf, for example)
And there have been a few that looked like they could not make it because of some of these skills that have done well. (Brees, Tarkenton)
Only time will tell which does best in the NFL, but right now MOST NFL insiders still pick Murray to be drafted ahead of Mettenberger.

Well, in retrospect Mett was the favorite to start before Murray when he was here, this is before tittays became a distraction

True. But almost every mock draft and NFL scout says Murray gets drafted higher than Mett. So, are you saying that NFL teams prefer to draft theworst prospect higher?

Leaf is taller and had a bigger arm than Manning. The prototype QB people speak about doesn't exist. Certain physical requisites are required, but mobility, accuracy and intelligence will be the biggies going forward.
