I miss playing them ever year. I hope we do indeed go to New Orleans in '15 or so as I saw somewhere.
Me too.
It's my hope that when they finish the new Tulane Stadium, we will renew the rivalry. Moving Tulane football to the Dome didn't help any.

How can you name intrastate rivalries and leave off South Carolina-Clemson? The hatred we have for each other is beyond comprehension.

We used to until Tulane dropped out of the SEC and de-emphasized football
And I don't see it coming back anytime soon.

It's very difficult to have a rival when er'rybody loves you.

I'm sorry, I had them in the list and somehow deleted them.....an oversight on my part and completely inexcusable. I'm sure it's at an all time high this year for the game.
That's the kind of rivalry I'm talking about.

Rivalries - and I mean the knock down, rip their guts out hate-filled ones - are going to be pretty hard to maintain between private and public schools in this day and age.
Sure, we managed it back in the day - but as Mr. Dylan said, we used to care but things have changed. A new 30,000 seat stadium isn't going to do one bit to bring it back, either. LSU would NEVER agree to play in that dinky little thing.

I could see LSU playing there one time just as a special game to commemorate the opening of the new Tulane stadium.

I'm with you in that it would be a neat thing to do, but the lost revenue would be a killer.

The LSU-Tulane game would have to be in the dome every year sorta like the the bayou classic.

I'm somewhat jealous of the intrastate rivalries such as enjoyed by bama-Auburn, Ole Miss-Miss State, Texas-Texas A&M (I've never seen such hate for another team from a fanbase), Kentucky-Louisville, Florida-Fla State, Georgia-Ga Tech.
Nobody in Louisiana is close to being LSU's equal and that's too bad because the rivalry from instate teams is part of the enjoyment of college football.
Maybe at some point in the future? And who might it be?
The hate and obsession is pretty intense out of Austin right now. I've never seen anything like it. The highest ratings for A&M games come out of Austin, their radio show hosts only talk about us, their head coach is talking about our players tweets, and my teasip friends are so butthurt it is unreal.

This actually pleasing to hear. Nobody deserves to be more insecure than the teasips

I'm a semi old timer and I despise Tulane
The destruction of the rivalry isn't all on LSU. Tulane literally abandoned what fanbase they had at one time. Very few people in New Orleans care about Tulane anymore and it's of their own doing. When they had baseball playing at a high level, you could see the hate there.
I'd love to help Tulane open up their new stadium, oh say with a 62-0 victory for the tigers

Tulane made the dumbest conference move in all time history a long time ago. Youngin.
I don't know why they don't get some savvy boosters to make overtures to the Big 12. With that new stadium, and the fact that New Orleans is just fricking awesome, it seems like they should jump on board. I'm sure their athletic budget sucks, but one booster could fix it all really quick. Do all those smarty pants make money with their degrees?

And that's about exactly what you'd get
Even better would be if that were the score with, say, 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter....and then we did our flat-out damndest not to score another single point
Way better than changing 13 - 0 into "Bevo"

Tulane has almost twice the endowment of the entire LSU system. It's possible that some big pocket Tulane athletic donors could show up. The Big XII would be an immediate impact for Tulane athletics. Even though the Big XII doesn't travel well, the New Orleans destination could put some butts in the seats.

You mean kind of like what we recently did to our interstate rivals...?
