We would be in serious contention for West this year.

I think the CB starters are serviceable if Sawyer and Golson are 100%... Hilton is kind of a wildcard - he could get better.
Other than Prewitt we don't have much of a pulse @ safety. Elston is good in the box and fast, but his awareness/coverage is still bleh.
Chief was terrible vs. Texas, but apparently he was dealing with some family issues. I'm still not convinced he is good enough to be a guy who plays a bunch of snaps.

Brassell making it would've helped tremendously. But Nutt fricked us at almost every position thus the shuffling of players to fill holes. We get Carlos Davis back for LSU so we should be average by then.

Agree - his 6 ft+ size alone made him so valuable... hence why we have to try a guy like Derrick Jones @ CB
