The Board of Trustees met Friday.

$1 million for the Sand Volleyball court. I think this is a new varsity sport we'll have. Should be done by November.

$1 million for an expansion of the new Tennis facilities. Should be done by the summer of 2014.

$2.5 million for new Men's and Women's Soccer Locker Rooms. Should be done by 2016 season.

$10 million for new Outdoor track facility, should be done by 2015 season.

$5 million for Renovated Indoor track, should be done by 2015 season.

$14 million renovation of Williams Brice ETV plaza. Set for completion before the 2015 season.

$3 million relocation of Outdoor football practice fields.

$14.5 million new construction of Indoor football practice fields. Set for completion now in March 2015.

It's good to see that we are getting a lot of capital improvements and that they are really under 2 years away.

What exactly are they going to do at the ETV location? I guess I am just out of the loop on that one. Had an ex-gf in college whose parents parked there, so I tagged along a few times to that lot.

I don't know if they have any artist renderings available to the public yet, but here's some more info.

https://www.gsabusiness.com/news/47712-usc-to-redevelop-former-etv-site?rss=0

The goal of the project is to redevelop the former ETV site into a pedestrian-friendly area with new entry gates and site beautification to include shade trees and extensive landscape and hardscape components.

The project will include demolition and renovation of some portion of the old ETV structures and the creation of daily and game-day parking areas, as well as fan-support spaces.

The site is expected to be compatible in style to the newly renovated property across Bluff Road. The architectural and engineering team may have the opportunity to proceed to the Phase II portion of the project.

I wish the BoTs had acted sooner. Ray laid it all out for them in early February, individually and one by one, and you'd be surprised how much resistance he got from several of them and how much we had to cut-back off of the original proposals in order to finally get signed-off on everything.

Finally living-up to promises made long ago to Curtis Frye was job one. I'm happy that appears to be in sight because the man has been incredibly patient.

We could have waited on the improvements and expansion of the tennis facility IMHO.

We should be prioritizing the stadium beautification project and should not have been forced to congregate the entire project into the ETV phase of the project. The parking lot around the stadium was supposed to be Phase I and was supposed to be complete before next season. Combining and delaying all of that only means it'll be 2016, or later, before it is completed.

We're lacking a serious leader within our BoTs right now, that is apparent.

Here are some preliminary renderings of what the W-B site "beautification" project may look like:

Was one of the projects supposed to be completed recently?

Here's a link to the slideshow of the conceptions.
