We beat the goat piss out of them, let's talk stats!

https://www.gamecocksonline.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2013-2014/sc1.html

NC had 1 more 1st down, but most of their yards came in garbage time.

UNC net'd 99 Rushing yards, we had 228!
UNC avg'd 2.8 yards a Rush, we did 6!
UNC avg'd 4.5 yards per Pass, we did 8.5!
UNC avg'd 7.5 yards a Completion, we did 14.8!
UNC Fumbled 2 times and Lost 1. we never even fumbled.
UNC had 1 fewer Penalties, but more Penalty Yards, clippling is for bitches.
UNC did get more yards on punt returns and kickoff returns.
UNC had 1 sack, we had 3. (UNC only gave up 11 all last year.)

...This is a BIG Stat.
UNC had 3 TFL's......USC had12!!!

The scoreboard is what matters most, and we won that too, we just also beat the statistic shite out of them as well.

You have the punt averages backwards.

Vic Hampton does not need to do either.

This is what I screamed at the tv all night last night! Let whitehurst or someone else return, not our starting CB who took a few big shots on those returns.

I agree, we need to get another person to do returns. Losing Vic would be a big blow to our defense.

I think one of the WR (Cooper, Byrd or Roland... in that order due to the latter two being starters) or Carson or Williams would be a better option. The key would be the ones who hold onto the ball the best though. If that's Hampton right now, we might need him back there until someone else steps up.

I like the idea of letting a WR do it, we are deeper there. I would want one of the 2nd string guys doing it. I don't know if y'all saw it, but the highlights of Kane Whitehurst from HS on returns was sick. He was an All State selection for GA.

Agreed.

I've seen Shon Carson do some amazing things in practice on KOR and PR. If he would only get his 'tude together he'd be great at doing both plus he'd get a lot more time in the backfield imho.
