To start, I don't think he's an ugly slob, and apparently, neither does she. Second, personality plays a huge part in chemistry. If people "click," it always makes them attractive to each other. For whatever reason, wherever they were, and whatever the circumstances, they clicked. The better question is, who gives a shite? What is the colossal fascination with them being together? Quite honestly, I give zero fricks. I don't get the obsession.

Bret actually said that he told her he was a history teacher when they first met because he did that to every woman he met at first...a few months later she saw him on TV for a college football preview ad and he had some explaining to do
