obviously, i chose USC too, but i also went to grad school at UTK, where the campus was more segregated from the core city.... same as LSU... which has allowed to school to grow and have more green space, not to mention stadiums and arenas on campus. USC is having to grow toward the Vista and compete w/ industrial development and having a major road like Assemby bisecting doesn't help w/ a campus environment. USC/Columbia is more like UT/Austin except UT was able to envision their needs beyond 40 acres.
