Why anybody would work in non-commission sales is a fricking mystery to me, unless the salary is just ridiculous.

some industries, a commissioned sales rep can have a large portion of the year with no sales. commission = stability, usually they receive some sort of bonus based off a quota though

I can understand the salary+commission, and even the salary+bonus (to a certain extent), but straight salary sales is pointless, IMO.

I'm convinced the "no-commission salespeople" approach is a huge part of why Best Buy is circling the drain as a company. Amazon is another reason, but Best Buy could overcome that with a knowledgeable and motivated sales force.
