When split into East/West divisions and using your numbers I get

1 Missouri 578
2 Florida 505
3 Texas A&M 477
4 Arkansas 407
5 Auburn 359
6 South Carolina 345
7 Kentucky 329
8 LSU 320
9 Vanderbilt 305
10 Georgia 288
11 Tennessee 269
12 Alabama 265
13 Ole Miss 254
14 Mississippi State 239

Some East schools are skewed upwards by Missouri, Florida in particular.

Interesting. Your list clearly shows why auburn and missouri need to be switched. They would both decrease their average distance

This shows how out of place Missouri and Auburn are:

Auburn avg distance from west schools: 359 miles
Missouri avg distance to east schools: 578 miles

Flip flop Missouri and Auburn and:

Auburn avg distance from east schools: 265 miles
Missouri avg distance to west schools: 448 miles

Auburn is 94 miles closer on avg to the east division, Missouri is 130 miles closer on avg to the west division
