If UGA barely beats Clemson, then UGA will probably fall in the polls because they "struggled".

If UGA wipes their arse with Clemson in a blowout, then Clemson gets knocked out of the top 25 and struggles the rest of the season to get back in, and the same old tired story about UGA vs Top 25 gets recycled again, and at the end of the season it hurts our strength of schedule.

As Carolina fans, what do you think is the best case scenario for UGA in this game, long term?

Obviously, I just want a W and don't care how it happens.

Blow out win. That way if Clemson losses 4 games and struggles to finish in the top 25 you won't have people wondering why y'all's game was so close.

I'm hoping the refs break in the new ejection for targeting rule in the second half on at least two players from UGA though. Otherwise I don't have a rooting interest in the game.

We want uga to win. If they win, then we will move up in the poles the next week after the win. I don't think it will matter if it's a win by 3 or a win by 21. Either way, you guys might move 1-2 spots in the rankings, and that won't impact our game. If you guys lose, we would jump you anyways in the rankings, but we might only move up 1 or 2 spots. If you guys are ranked around 5th or better and we're about 10th, we could jump up 4-5 spots after beating you.

Hard for me to speculate because the premise is off-base: Clemson's top opponents in '13 will be UGA, FSU, and USC. The rest of their schedule is loaded with puff. They play two FCS opponents (SC State & Citadel) in '13, for crying out loud.

So what I'm trying to say is, Clemson won't fall out of the top 25 this season unless they have a meltdown, and losing to 2-3 opponents will still leave them with a 10-2 or 9-3 season record, and starting out the season so highly ranked will also help keep them in.

Now, if CU goes 0-fer against the big 3 on their schedule, they could drop a bit due to being perceived as weak, but they went 0-2 against the biggest opponents on their schedule last year, and were still around 14th or 15th when they faced LSU in their bowl game...

I love how it's not "if" but when.

Absolutely, I don't like forecasting the option of failure.

Best case scenario for UGA is a blowout. Then even if they drop games to Carolina, Florida, etc. then they would have this win to crow about.

As has been said, Clemson's schedule outside of UGA, USC and FSU is almost a complete joke. They "shouldn't" drop more than three this year and will pad their resume by blowing out a couple of teams along the way.

I don't think it's going to be a blowout by either side, though. Both defenses have too many questions and both offenses are loaded. It will be a shootout til the end.

I don't see Clemson losing more than three games this year and two of those being to SEC teams so the strength of schedule fear I feel is irrational whether ya'll blow them out or not.

However, with that said I still hope ya'll blow them out. It's July and I'm still hearing shite about Chick-Fil A bowl.

Clemson fans have a fundamental lack of understanding about the game of football. I still here about the chickfila bowl as well.

Never mind the fact that we beat their team on the road, Clemson fans still believe they were better last year because they beat LSU on a neutral field and we lost to LSU on the road
