Arkansas isnt redneck AT ALL. WHATSOEVER.

Well, you won't see confederate battle flags on our college campus. That's one thing.

And Fayetteville probably isn't as "redneck" as Oxford if you're using traditional standards of "redneck". Fayetteville feels more like a Colorado town. I remember seeing a poster joke about the "honky tonks of Dickson street" like that was a thing. I don't have a memory of there being an actual honky tonk on Dickson Street, or a dedicated "country" music bar in downtown fayetteville for that matter.

Fayetteville takes pride in being open, really liberal, laid back and inclusive. We accept frat douches, but they don't run the place.

Oxford seems really republican and stuffy for a college town.

I agree with everything youve said. However, seeing the confederate flags at tents in the grove is few and far between these days to be honest. You will still see one from time to time but not that often.

I agree with that based on what ive heard and when I was there. FYI I wasnt saying FV is redneck, it is well known that FV is a chill-arse spot. I was making a sweeping generalization like your fellow hawg fan.

It's actually not at all. Yea the cops can be assholes and theres the stupid alcohol laws(which are going to change) but as someone who has lived here for 8 years, just trust me, Oxford is not what you see when you come to town for a football game. It's just not. It's a chill small north MS town with art, great music, literay history, and charm that then explodes into a gridlock of traffic and drunk football fans 7 weekends per Fall.

What the frick does this have to do with a fricking town ... seriously you Arkansas people are really starting to annoy the frick out of me.

Yes Fayetteville is a VERY NICE place, I in fact love the place, but can y'all please stop with all the bullshite lies and false truths that you are spewing. Seriously the ignorance that is this thread is appalling.

Of Parties, Prose and Football

At Ole Miss, It's Give Me a T-A-I-L-G-A-T-E

At Ole Miss, the Tailgaters Never Lose

A College Town Where the Streets Are Paved in Magnolia

36 Hours | Oxford, Miss.

Literary Pilgrimages; William Faulkner

FWIW these people disagree with y'all ...

With that being said OP go to Fayetteville ( 36 Hours in Fayetteville, Ark.) then come see us in a few years

If you were drunk enough, there was some pretty good "country" juke boxes at some joints back in the day, though I used to hang out more with the Earl and Ernie crowd.

...and they're still jamming...mostly Earl and gang.
