All I was pointing out was that LSU was winning because of their defense, NOT because of Mettenberger. While I believe your "D" will be excellent this year, it won't be as dominating as it has been the last 2-3 seasons. If Mettenberger puts up performances like he did last year you can count those games as losses this year....do you seriously disagree?

In 2011 LSU went into Atlanta with a very young defense and the 100th ranked passing game and 62nd ranked total offense.

Result: 42-10.

Conclusion: LSU can win without good QB play.

Defenses aren't young in the 13th game of the season

*sigh* Apparently LSU fans either cannot, or refuse to read. LSU fans keep saying that Mettenberger would "improve by a mile" because of his experience from last year. I was merely pointing out that there was a good chance that he would not. MANY times I have said that LSU would have a good team. However, more to your point....do you really think the LSU defense will be as good as they have been the last three years? All of you LSU fans keep pointing out that Georgia lost 9 starters from last year and it will be horrible. But we will be returning 4-5 with a lot of experience and the Georgia defense will not be as bad as many think. (My opinion) However, the LSU defense lost just as many starters as Georgia. NEITHER defense will be bad, but I think LSU's will drop off a bit more than Georgia's will, based on how good they have been. Add to that how good the Georgia offense will be....I just think it is a good match up for Georgia.
