They still exist - their shadows were recently photographed. They have turned white, though.

Awwww, that's cute. This little boy doesn't understand particle physics, radiation effects or the properties of sunlight on a fabric as fragile as woven nylon.

Somebody get this kid a set of Encyclopedia Britannica's, STAT.
