NEW COMMIT | RHP/OF Paul Young 6-3 205 Soph, Milton FL. Central Alabama CC. Drafted in 21st round by Indians a month ago.
Looks to be a nice addition.
Eta: Article on him. He was the winning pitcher in the Juco National Championship game, but it looks like he wasn't mainly a pitcher. A lot of options with this guy.

Nice. Our baseball recruiting seems to be getting better and better.
Could be a guy that contributes right away.

Our fan support is great. That has to make a big impact on potential recruits.

Baseball recruiting should take a step up after last season. Looks like a really good get.

Nice.
We are in need of corner outfielders.
Cohen has been doing very well in getting JUCO players who can contribute immediately.

Priced himself out of the 5th-10th round range...
This is a pretty huge pick up for sure...

Pitcher. I think he really came on strong towards the end of the year. Was touching 94.

Starter, middle relief or closer?

This makes it seem like he was a solid outfielder...then he came out and started pitching and his draft stock skyrocketed.

The two teams met three times altogether at the Junior College World Series, with Central Alabama opening and closing the tournament with wins over Palm Beach State. Freshman righthander Paul Young, who was primarily an outfielder this season for the Trojans and started only five games altogether on the mound, went the distance in the deciding tilt, scattering seven hits while striking out five. He also won an earlier start in the tournament for the Trojans, and with a fastball in the low- to mid-90s may have improved his stock significantly in this week’s first-year player draft.

I meant for us next year. I'm assuming he has starter stuff with some pop. I can't wait for Butch to work with him.

Looking at the roster, I'd sure like for us to lock up a power lefty for the bullpen... That's about all we're currently lacking IMO...

Could Irby the FR from Florence, AL fall into that spot.

Possibly... It's just the only spot in the pen that we don't have a "given" at this point...

Wouldn't mind stumbling on a power bat that decided not to sign pro. Really want Palmeiro too.
