Not true, actually. During its use over the centuries, often times the blade would not drop with enough velocity or be just dull enough that it did not make a clean cut but, instead, would sever the spinal column leaving the victim still conscious but paralyzed and they would have to drop it again to finish the kill.

Other than that, it's affordable and might as well give the death row inmates an option

Cool story, it's not the 16th century anymore though an engineering has come quite a way.

Also since there won't be daily beheadings we could probably sharpen it up a bit ya think?
