For those of you that have been, or are there, what are the best places to stay that are
A)Close to the Stadium
B)Close to Bars
C)None of the above
Planning on leaving Sunday after we take care of business Friday. Thanks in advance.

Just get on kayak and type in omaha, ne. It will start with downtown and go from closest to farthest. There should be plenty available.

C. None of the above unless you are looking on paying $300+ per night. Unless they drop prices due to LSU fans canceling rooms.
I stayed right outside of downtown for about $100

I stayed in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the Comfort Suites. (~2 mi. from stadium)
If you're willing to spend more money, anywhere downtown would be good. The stadium is walking distance from most hotels there and the old market district has several fun bars in that area.

I'm hoping to head back out on Sunday.

If I can get co-workers on board, I will be flying out Sunday hopefully. Not driving again.

Whats a plane ticket looking like? I didn't even check them out because I figured they would be too much...

To Omaha a ton, to Kansas City 280-300 but you have to rent a car then drive 2 hours 20 min.

wouldn't that cancel out the savings from the plane ride?

I can fly from New Orleans to Omaha for 563.00 after fees, so it's gotten a little better.

That round-trip or one-way?

That's round trip, last I checked. You would have to have several people with you to split a rental to make it worth it. The airport is right off the interstate if you could get someone to pick you up on their way through.

It's a lot higher than that right now. $476 is the cheapest out of NOLA and $616 out of Jackson.
If it were ~300, I would jump on it.

What we should have done is left our vehicles in omaha and done a round trip from omaha and then driven back.
Posted on 6/19/13 at 2:25 pm to 17theBears
Yeah 600+ is what I found from Jackson and theres just no way to justify flying over driving at that point.

Damn, that wouldn't have been a bad idea.
