Not very well, apparently.
In that stretch, Alabama has 7 National Titles wire-press national titles. That's more than any two teams in the SEC combined when using ALL of their National Titles. The rest of the SEC combined in that same stretch is 8.

Florida and UGA, sure. A&M and USCe have to prove they can continue with long-term success. Being #6 in winning % compared to the SEC in that 40 year span isn't terribly impressive (A&M) and being #50 overall (South Carolina) is really unimpressive.
