Stassen doesn't include the 1901 victory of Auburn over LSU in their first meeting. LSU won in 1902 and then again in 1908 but then lost in 1912, 1913 and 1924 at which point Auburn led the series 2-4. LSU then went on to win 6 in a row evening up the series in 1927, 4-4. 6 of those first 8 games werre played in the state of Alabama.

So yeah, 1926 was the last time Auburn led the series at 4-3. They haven't led since. Wow. Call me a liar
