Since the last one burned down, I've been wanting to go bowling so badly. Seems that it will be in the old movie theatre by Della Davidson. (The Hidden Wendy's) I can barely remember bowling. Am I too excited for this?

It's Malco's new entertainment center. They're converting the old Malco to a one that shows limited releases like Studio on the Square or Ridgeway 4

I read malco's site for this ... It might be cool but for sure good for that side of town

I like that I don't have to drive to Memphis to those snobby theaters to see limited releases. The redone Studio Cinema in the mall is great.

The write up about was talking about all the renovations they will do the theater itself ... IMO they'll probably end up shutting down the other one if everything they want to do goes according to plan.

The article said they're converting the mall one to a limited release theater. So clutch

I was in a ES class last fall and we were talking about city planning for people's health. Anyway the professor was talking about how the city wanted to make that part of town like a "second square". Tons of land out there and I believe the new high school is somewhere over there.

I think it is the perfect idea. You can really catch people on Hwy 7 if they are able to accomplish this as well as the people you catch on Hwy 6.
With all the money in Oxford I still don't understand why the city was not able to keep the mall running when Wal Mart left. Hello Target!!! lol

They were going to do that until the city shot down the plans and the company went bankrupt, I believe.

Studio on the Square is not really a limited release theater anymore.

My knee still gives me issues from an injury suffered at the old bowling alley one summer.

Agreed but you knew what I meant

I would be pretty surprised if a town Oxford's size could support a limited release theater. They may do some mix though of big releases and small.

We talked about target as well, apparently at one time target was thinking about opening up a store here, however they did some research and decided it wasn't a good idea seeing as a majority of the customers would be students. Too expensive for the area.

Wrong ... I'd say the majority of the students would only go to Target if there was one.
