"Welcome back to what is now an annual tradition: the 75 Most Important Rebels. Unlike last year’s edition, the rankings are completely dependent on one factor: importance for the 2013 season, during which the Rebels will be trying to improve on a surprising 7-6 record last fall. And remember, this is “important,” not “best.” Positions and depth chart do matter. All decisions are my own, and send your feedback to the comment section below."

I had such high hopes for Mathews when he got to Oxford he plays with such passion and effort. I hope he really improves this year. He deserves a better number than 70.

He was a grayshirt last year. Here's an article from SB nation on him. He holds the Alabama high school record for field goals at 48.

Anyone still reading these articles? Hugh does a great job with each one and it is worth the read. He describes past, present and future of every player I usually learn something new everyday. Plus you get to read all the comments the state fans put on there and how jealous they are.

Thanks for keeping up with this. Is there any significance to having Ben Still and Carlos Davis in all caps? I'm not being critical, I'm just curious.

I'm almost positive Ben Still didn't walk on. I could be wrong, though.
