This is just not really true, other than being in the state of , GA. Auburn is only 40 miles further from the dome, than Athens, yet probably is about the same drive time.
But really there are so many transplants in Atl, that its not the same as holding it in NOLA, Birm, or Dallas.

INCREDIBLY STUPID comment. Do you know how many tourists have been murdered while visiting New Orleans during international and national sporting events since 1970 (4th Super Bowl) ?????
Maybe 5. At the most.
FYI, 99.99999 % of the murders happen in the Central City or N.O. East crack house and project areas, NOT near the tourist attractions, downtown, or the French Quarter.
So, the next time you visit New Orleans, is THAT what you're going tell the shuttle or cab driver ???? "Yes, bring me to the Central City gang and drug section please...."
Stupid fricking a-hole.....
Preach on

quote:Agreed. I hate being tied to Atlanta. Of course being an Ole Miss fan, I'll probably never need to worry about it.
NOLA is the perfect venue to host an event of this stature, plus downtown Atlanta blows. Thanks.

Because the sec's premier bowl game is there already.
THIS. It would take away from the Sugar Bowl. IMO

So that's why LSU would not like Atlanta?

The conference should start accounting for the fact that a population of 31 million was just annexed on the west side of the conference.
HOOVER REALLY SUCKS for the majority of fans.
Is anyone else noticing a common theme here that fans of the schools close to Atlanta insist the football championship must stay there?

Can't be said enough.
Especially during big events, the only thing you need to worry about is thugs trying to con you out of money. Just don't be stupid enough to bet them where you got your shoes.
They post cops all over the place during big events. I was in the Quarter Sat. night of Super Bowl, and they had cops from all over SE LA there. You would of been in more danger in any gated community in America

I don't know but I think they should rotate between Houston and Dallas for future championships. This will benefit everyone.

From an Auburn fan too
Same distance to Atlanta from Auburn and Athens as it is from BR to Nola

If you are traveling to a football game and staying for a weekend, which would you rather go to (and be honest): Atlanta or New Orleans?
I wish we could poll the country.
Atlanta blows. It's far too big and spread out, downtown is not fun or unique, and buck head is far away. New Orleans is built for weekends like that.
