Vote to keep 8 game schedule was 13-1

The point is that we shouldn't be playing FCS teams at all...early, late, whenever.
seems if that was the point, then someone would introduce a proposal to outlaw FCS games like the B1G just did
I agree though and wish that had been the proposal rather than the 9 game slate. I hate those games.
I do too. I live almost 4 hours from Tuscaloosa and never go to those games, an I usually can't even give the tickets away.
The B1G elimination of FCS games won't be phased in for a couple of years though, and they also are looking at a nine (and maybe even ten) game conference schedule.

well, let's face it, there's really no downside to change for the B1G. They last played in a title game in 2007. They last won a title in 2002. Over the last 3 years, they've only had one BCS at-large selection (the SEC has had 7 straight years with an at-large BCS participant).
Clearly what they are doing now hasn't been working. And clearly whatever the SEC has been doing is working. You could say they should mimic us but honestly they've been trying and failing miserably at it. So in that light, getting major changes passed in the B1G right now is probably fairly easy.

I already suspect that the real reason the Big Ten wants to go to 9 conference games is more b/c they are scared of OOC upsets due to their continuing decline and only tossed in the no FCS stuff as a smokescreen to hide that fact.
If they go to 10 conference games out of a 12 game schedule I don't see how it could be anything other than them trying to hide their decline by avoiding other teams from around the nation until a potential playoff.
