The schedule makers should strive for fairness as best they can at any point in time. That relative schedules may have been fairer in the past, or may be fairer in the future, really has nothing to do with the present clear imbalance.

Life's just not fair.

IMO, I don't think it's fair to high school athletes that Mike Slive placed signing restrictions on SEC football programs at 25 signees a year. Just because of fricking Houston Nutt.

IIRC the previous limit was 27? Now there are 28 high school players that won't get the opportunity to play SEC football. That's just not fair to the kids that have a dream to play in the best conference in the country.
