Would the average guy like it? The only people I know that watch are girls, just a weird sample of friends on that one...

It's not a chick show by any means.
Depends on the guy. It's not a fast-paced, action show. Character development is the name of the game.
Give it a shot. Its not for some. But I like it (not as much as some though).

Madmen? I know plenty of people, guys and girls, that love it. I'm not big on dramas, stick to comedies and sports, but the appeal of that show is definitely wide ranging.
