I agree with this. I think he improved his "people" skills over time and also learned invaluable skills on how to operate an NFL team.

The lessons Saban learned in his previous stops has been instrumental to the operations at Alabama and I am happy as a clam.

This is just simply not the case. The players really liked Saban.

It's not that Saban doesn't have people skills. It's that he gets pissed off having to answer the media's questions.

When I was at LSU, I had to do an argumentative paper and I chose BCS vs a playoff (this was in 2001). I called Nick Saban to use him as a source and explained to his secretary what I was doing. He called me back and was as nice as could be. He had people skills back then. He was a lot more friendly than some of the engineers I talk to on the phone. :CSB:
