there is nothing bama has that other major SEC programs don't have in terms of facilities or resources. Those dusty old trophy cases don't mean anything to recruits. Saban's track record and NFL pedigree does.

Yeah they want to play in front of 90-100k every week and have the best of everything in terms of facilities but guess what, you aren't the only program that has all that. This idea that well you were good in the 60's somehow has some influence over the present is illogical and wrong.

Alabama fans might be the most ignorant in the country with this silly shite. I rue the day our baseball fans start talking like this but sadly it's probably coming here in the next 5-10 years or so.

Exactly. Kids want to go to Alabama because Saban is a boss and they are winning now. It has nothing to do with what the Bear did. And I'm with you with our baseball fans. USC, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandy(scholarship advantages), A&M, Miss St, and even Florida have just as much opportunity to be a dominant baseball program as LSU does due to facilities and talent base. Hell add UGA in there even though they have shite facilities.
eta. They just make threads like this and respond with shite like the guy you quoted did to stroke their ego to talk themselves into the idea that no one else has an opportunity to be as good as them...that they're BAMA because they're BAMA. They have had some incredible coaches that took their resources and ran with it. Put Saban at UF, LSU, UGA, Tenn, Auburn, and A&M and you have very similar results.
