Whats this I'm hearing about a shooting on Dickson?

KNWA just says that two people have been treated at Washington Regional. No other details were released.

There was a rap show at Dickson Theater. Draw your own conclusions. I hate that place. It could be the music venue that Fayetteville needs, but its run by a complete fricktard.

The concerns shouldn't be exactly who owns it, but who rents it. Rap shows almost always have some independent promoter behind those shows.

There have been at least two other shootings (the only ones in my memory of Dickson my entire life) that occurred in that immediate area, by patrons leaving the Dickson Theater. There have been several brawls related to that club, too.
Its a damned shame, because one club brings in the thug element that wouldn't exist on Dickson otherwise.
The cops basically have to camp out that end of Dickson waiting for something to happen. Dickson Theater is a nuisance and the guy who runs it should be ashamed of himself.
The story is several black males brawling just north of Dickson Theater, and shots fired. Minor injuries, this time, but its only a matter of time before one of these incidents kills someone just out having a few beers.
I have to walk past that shithole night club most nights that I go out. I was out last night, but I had taken a cab, otherwise I might have parked on Block and been in that immediate vicinity.

I was way off.....Whitewater was 1980(Driveby, not in pub event).

That element you speak of has been the death of many many many clubs in Fayetteville.

Gazebo wasn't anywhere near Dickson Street, just to be clear.
I think a broader point is how extremely rare any kind of violence has been on Dickson. Big fights are even pretty uncommon. I like the vibe of Dickson and its awful that the clientele of one stupid club threatens everybody's safety.
Someone with a little sense and vision could turn that into the premiere live music venue in the state.
