Butch Davis has coached 35 guys in 10 years drafted in the 1st round

His recruiting class won a National Title the season after he left and he made North Carolina of all teams relevant. I know there were reports of misconduct regarding player benefits but he as been cleared of any wrong doing. Why isnt this guy coaching somewhere? And another question, would you want him coaching Mizzou if the position became available?

I really want to call Chad Morris or even David Shaw. It would be hard has hell to get Shaw from his Alma Mater, but throw some cash around and lets see what happens.

Probably better than what we have but not as good as what I hope we can get. Of realistic options though(once we are rejected by the Smart's and Strong's of the world)....might not be a bad idea.

We have to go huge on this next hire. Next year we are going to 77K, so Alden has to sell an additional 7,000 seats. I really do believe Alden will be out here hard-selling a big name. This is also why I am confident that 6-6 is not cutting it. Alden MUST get a big name.
And I wouldnt play down Morris losing the Tech job. Kingsbury went to TT so they wanted to bring him back home. Morris is a hot name and will be ready to go. If not him somebody will be. As far as Shaw, maybe he wouldnt come but you would be surprised the coaches that would want to take a shot at the SEC (see Bielema for example). Go get a guy from the NFL, John Chavis (although he might be too old at this point), or another top SEC assistant. We need a guy with instant credibility.
