Considering the Director's Cup has only been around since 1993, that is quite the accomplishment.

But still impressive for UF finishing in the Top 10 for all 19 years of the competition. Only Stanford has performed better, winning it the last 18 times.

It has been around in different variations under different names, it goes back further than 1993.

Stanford is a great all around program, but they also participate in well over a dozen additional sports, so it it is a bit skewed. UF does about as well as it can given so few sports.

Ah didn't know that. Good to know.

Also true. Stanford has the "luxury" of replacing lower performing sports from the index where most schools will have to count all their teams' performances.

and this begs the question, how the heck does Stanford compete in so many sports?

I'm hoping Florida can move up. We still have some chances in w tennis, lacrosse, softball, and maybe track & field.
