With less than a month and a half until the MLB Draft, let's discuss Cord

It starts in 44 days and will be over in 47. We all know the QB situation, so I won't spend much time discussing that. Basically if we get him to play just football we're good, if he plays both we worry for a while, and if he goes MLB we're in trouble.
I haven't been able to find that much data on the MLB draft process, but here's what I have found from some brief searches and exploring other boards.
> Rated 41st overall
> Rated 46th Overall (2/21/2013)
> Described as "1st round talent, but could slip to 2-5th round.""(2/18/2013)
> 38th(1/6/2013)
> 61st overall
> "20th to end of 2nd"(4/4/2013)
>I don't have insider, but I'm told this link(3/14/2013) doesn't have Cord in the top 50 but has him in a "Players to watch section."
All of the links that I've found(and provided) are leading me to assume Cord will be taken somewhere in the 2nd round, which according to this link means he can get a signing bonus of around 500K. Does anybody remember what quote it was that Cord's dad said would be the amount he expected Cord to play baseball for?

Going to "take first round money" directly from Cord's dad...although they are obviously not telling MLB that.
I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him fall bigtime based on perceived unsignability...

This is my hope. It seems Cord is perceived as an extremely athletic, but raw prospect.

And maybe they are just telling you that.

They've got no reason to lie to us about it... Why would they? He's signed -- we've essentially done all we can do.
They've got every reason to lie to MLB about it in attempt to show signability and get drafted at his true value.

On the actual projections, I feel like we can obviously dismiss all the ones that don't have Renfroe in the first round at this point as obvious bs. No one talks to more scouts than Kendall Rogers -- and he says Renfroe is going in the top 15 overall.

Lie? to MLB? I call it negotiating tactics.
I heard it would take 1st round money way before we signed him. I would bet anyone interested in drafting him not only heard it but they have probably asked Cord/his father point blank if it's true. Even if they denied it, I would have to be convinced otherwise if I intended to draft him.
I believe He will either be drafted very early or very late. Why? If you don't sign him then you have to count the draft position $'s against a salary cap.
You don't offer a third or fourth round pick 1st round money very often and you don't draft someone with little chance of signing them and take a salary cap hit.
I think he is either a 1st rounder or at least an early 2nd or he won't be drafted until the later rounds where the salary cap hit isn't as great.
But who really knows?
