It would nearly be impossible to have a vehicle given to you these days. Every major athletic department has an extensive program to monitor athlete's vehicles.

so naive, I can tell you for certain it happens a major universities still( or at least did a short few years ago, an SEC school not in AL and one you would be very suprised to hear). And as Trey said, Pryor at OSU. However he wasnt the only one at OSU, several players had access to cars.

Alabama doesn't have one of the largest compliance departments for no good reason. We've had our share of run-ins with the NCAA. Don't you think they would be strict with this type of stuff. I mean, they're having to investigate a damn tweet for Christ's sake. Some people, like you, are just too cynical and think everyone is cheating at some awful rate. Things happen like the ordeal with Jerrell Harris, or the boating trip with Julio Jones and Mark Ingram, but those pale in comparison to someone driving around a 50K vehicle.

Oh it definitely happens, you just have to know how to do it. I imagine the best way to do it would be to say you saved money for his college education, and that combined with the Pell Grant was enough to buy the car.

OSU isnt the best example of it though. They were out of control and got busted.
