The stats back me up.

In 2011 you gave up 8.2 PPG, in 2012 you gave up 10.9 PPG. Take out the A&M and Georgia games (again, two elite offenses a caliber of which you didnt face in 2011) and you actually gave up FEWER PPG in 2012 than 2011, including more shut outs against better teams.

To further my point, the average total offensive rank of your 2011 opponents was 54th. In 2012 in was 28th. Take out A&M and Georgia and it drops to 52nd.

In 2011 you gave up 183 YPG. In 2012 you have up 250 a game. Take out Georgia and A&M and the 2011 total drops to 201.

So your vastly superior 2011 defense gave up more PPG and less than 20 YPG less. Sorry, the numbers dont support your claim. The difference was the offenses you played, not your defense. Statistically speaking, LSU has done far better against great offenses under Chevis. Saban's defense at Bama are just statistically good to average against elite offenses.
