I have never met the kid so this is all speculatory, but I'm pegging this kid as this years bust in MS.
He has SEC talent but so did Tobias, Pat Pat, Tig, etc.
He is down on MSU because Mullen & staff have been hard on him for skipping scheduled visits for no said reason.
He has skipped out on two OM visits now as well along with two local camps that he was invited to. He hasn't given any reason for skipping either like another sport or family issue.
It's one thing to skip on visits but to skip these camps that will help you develop is another.
I know its early, but I'm bored and I really see this kid as one of those lazy ones that never made it.
I still want the kid though. Talent is there for sure

If Freeze can make Snoop and Jeff Scott care he can make anyone care.

The awesome thing is, in the past, we'd have to bend over for head-case MS recruits.
Things have changed now.
We recruit more nationally and have been successful in that regard, so we don't necessarily have to utilize as much time and risk as many recruiting resources in guys like Pack.

His excuse for missing camps has always been "couldn't get a ride" which I think it the typical shady response recruits give. He's very talented but doesn't seem to have the mental toughness or competive drive that a CJ Hampton has. That doesn't mean I don't want those talents.

"It's close now between FSU and Ole Miss," Pack said after the Ole Miss visit. " It is a lot tighter now. I just had a chance to get to talk to all of their coaches. I got a chance to get them know better and got a look at the campus for the first time. I just saw how they do things up there, and I was really impressed."
The nation's #43 rated receiver admitted the trip went better than he expected after seeing Ole Miss for the first time."
"Two of my family members played at Ole Miss so they have always told me what it was like there but it was better than what I was even expecting. It was actually a lot better. Just seeing it. The campus is just right. It is not too big or too small. It's in an ideal college town too."
This was also the first time the Pack family had a chance to visit the Ole Miss campus.
"My mom was pretty much blown away, really. She just liked everything about it. So did the rest of my family. They like the idea of me staying in Mississippi to represent the home state."
What was the 6' 2", 195-pounder keying in on when he visited and what did he learn about those issues?
"I was just looking at the people I would be around every day. I wanted to look at their staff and facilities too. The staff takes you in like family. It seems like they really care about them getting better as a person and player. I was also really impressed with their facilities. I did not know they were adding on to them like that. But what stood out to me the most were the people. I guess it is a Mississippi thing. Everyone is like a big family up there, and I know a lot of those guys there."
Markell Pack did not work out at the SR Ole Miss camp but plans to do so Friday when he returns for another camp.
"I am coming back up there with Friday. I am looking forward to working with their coaches and going up against the best players in this Region. I have Friday circled."
Anymore camps on the horizon?
"I am going to go to FSU sometimes later in June. The Ole Miss and FSU camps are the only camps I know that I am going to for now."
What made FSU so attractive to garner a commitment?
"I just liked their staff. I have never been to their campus yet. I am eager to see how it is but my relationship with coaches (Tim) Brewster and Dawson were the reasons I committed to them."
Pack is eager to see how things are run at FSU while on his visit.
"I have never been there before so I really do not know a whole lot. I want to see what they do everyday and how they run everything."
