A player that recruiting coordinator Sammy Esposito made note of at the State Games was corner infielder Jake Holtzapple (Matthews, N.C./Providence). The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder has been on the Gamecocks’ radar for a while and he’s coming down on a visit today (Monday) to see the campus and meet with the staff. Holtzapple is ranked as the No. 100 player in the country by Perfect Game and is the fifth-best player in the 2016 class in the Tar Heel state.
