Random question I've only meet like two people ever from Mizzou. Is there an accent that comes with the state
Good question. Look at Missouri on a map and you'll see we are a transition zone for all of north south east and west, so naturally there are multiple forms of accent. Overwhelmingly most common (75% or so) is the "vanilla" or "no accent". Just plain old speak without any accent like you hear on national news. Then you have the somewhat nasally Chicago-esque accent which comes from certain parts of St. Louis (ex: farty-far instead of forty four, or ay-aksent instead of accent). Finally you have the southern accent prevalent in southern missouri and the bootheel which sounds like what a person from arkansas, Tennessee or northern mississippi would sound like. So basically 3 different "accents" you might run in to from a Missourian. Sorry for the novel

Or rural Arkansas. I know some folks from southern MO. They sound like us.
