I remember walking home from my friend's house and my dad was loading the family dog into his truck to take to the vet to have it put to sleep. The parents tried to pull a fast one on me. The dog did need to be put down though.

I know parents try to protect the children from that, but I always needed to know. It was easier to say good-bye.
