So you'd take a lesser player who played a full slate then a guy who suffered an injury but even post-injury still leads the nation (and those who played a full slate) in several defensive stats because he was just that good?

Will have to agree to disagree. But I'm sure you're just going to call me a homer again or something.

I don't think Hickey is a lesser defender, homer. He is an undersized guard. Obviously he and Noel play different positions. I'm sure our 4 UF posters can tell us who the best defender on the third ranked ppg defense is. By way of comparison, Kentucky was 126th in ppg defense (a difference of about 12 ppg on average).

I don't think it's fair to look at Noel's per game averages, such as blocks per game, because those could have gone down over the course of games he missed. However, his raw numbers were so great that it's hard not to consider him for DPOY. I don't mind debating who else is deserving, but have no problem with Noel actually getting it.
