A lot of SEC fans think VaTech would be a great addition, but they could not be more wrong. Those people are scum. Most redneck, fair-weather, unbearable fan base in America. I know that's a tall claim, but until you live with these people, you can't possibly understand. I think Michael Vick single handedly quadrupled the size of the VT fan base, which become the Duke/UNC fan base in hoops season because VT can't beat UVA in basketball.

If they can pull it off, the best option for the SEC would be to add UVA and UNC. Their fans are snobby, but are still pleasant to hang out with. They're similar to Ole Miss fans sort of.

I know VT is better than UVA at football now, but that would change quickly if UVA was in a better conference. There's a lot of talent in the state that would be more inclined to go to UVA if it was an SEC school. Same applies to UNC.

Also, the academic reputation of those two would be huge for the conference.

It's amazing how few people know this. Like I said in a prior post, if we want to add Duke and UNC bball fans, my as well just add Duke and UNC. I do agree, with you on UVA-UNC being my preffered expansion teams.
