In all seriousness though some advice I got from a lawyer on this was to appear intelligent, they select the dumbest people they can find. no offense to anyone who got stuck serving jury duty.

Not necessarily, it depends on the trial, criminal or civil, how high-profile it is, what kind of evidence (a lot of scientific vs. circumstantial), etc.
The jury I was on was made up mostly of professionals. It was a rather high profile criminal trial for the area with mostly circumstantial evidence, and not much of that. They were looking for a jury who would most likely convict with that limited amount of evidence and not look for a reason to acquit.
