I wouldn't worry about telling the truth if you want out of jury duty.
unless you hate black people, which in that case tell the truth loud and proud. possibly even inform them immediately that you know it is relevant because without a doubt a black man committed this crime as they do with all other crimes.

Whatever you do don't try to "hide" by not saying anything/laying low. That's how I ended up on a jury.
